You can tell it to backup continually, hourly, daily or snapshot. Setup was a little bit difficult but online help is okay. This allows you to leave it in plain sight as possession of the disc won’t get at the content. This does the job as well as supplying security on this easily accessible disc. I have a lot of cloud based material that I need offline backup. However, this caught my eye as you can set it up to do encrypted backup of whatever you want. I have a number of high capacity (14-16 tb) discs mostly to hold video collection. Connect it to its own USB port on your PC. Just remember, this is a Hub so don't directly connect it to another hub or you will likely only get 25 mb/s transfer rate. I was so impressed that I have since bought another 14TB hub. I managed to transfer 9TB of data in better than expected time. I got an average write speed of over 200 mb/s (approx 211 mb/s). I prefer manual copy or transfer, especially with large amounts of data. I skipped this part as I didn't want the one touch back up. Next it will ask you to download seagte software. You only have to put your name and email to activate the warranty. This will open your browser for the registration page. When you first connect to a pc, click the "start here" icon. I can't testify to the one touch function as I didn't use it. Same goes with all the other sizes, this is standard with most manufacturers. In another sense 14000000000000 bytes is equal to approx 13.2 TB. So, if you buy a 14TB drive you will get 14000000000000 bytes, so in this sense you are getting what you pay for. Some reviews state they don't get the space advertised. I've been using seagate drives for years with no issue. I bought this drive due to my 10TB getting almost full. This review is for the "one touch" 14TB hub.
